Shane Kirk > This shot was taken on April 23rd, 2009 around 3:30a.m.! I left my home at 2:15a.m. and drove south to a small town called Louisburg, which is in Kansas. The storm was small but had a lot of lightning. I got home at 5:15a.m. and had to be to work at 8:00! It was a long day but worth the effort!

Shane Kirk > May 1st, 2009. Taken in Fort Scott, Kansas looking east. A frustrating night. This town is very hilly and I drove around for quite some time trying to find an area to shoot from. This was shot from an open area off the 2 lane highway!

Shane Kirk > April 25th, 2009 in Leavenworth, Kansas. This storm had a confirmed tornado earlier in Lawrence, Kansas. My Dad and brother were with me on this chase. We took refuge in an old barn and shot from inside. Soon the tornado sirens were going and then a hailstorm on the metal roof! Good times!

Shane Kirk > July 15th, 2009 at Perry Lake, Kansas. The storm stalled across the lake and fizzled out. I was hoping for a reflection of the bolt on the water. However, even if I had the shot, it would have been blurred with the strong winds causing waves!
