Shane Kirk > June 5th, 2008 near Maryville, Missouri.Outflow boundary with a flash of lightning went over me.Talk about windy! This same storm had a few tornado warnings on it earlier in the day. On my way back home there was a tornado warning in Savannah,Missouri and I just so happened to be driving through! I had to pull over under an overpass just in case! The lightning would light-up the sky and there were some VERY low clouds and lightning extremely close.A very eerie feeling.
Shane Kirk > Taken May 30th, 2008 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Shane Kirk > Taken on July 26th, 2006 in Leawood, Kansas.
Shane Kirk > Taken July 14th,2007 in Olathe,Kansas. This was a dying shelf cloud. I stayed ahead of it for hours and photographed it in several areas. No filters or post processing.
Shane Kirk > June 8th, 2008 in Kansas city. I was amazed at how fast these clouds moved! And the color!
Shane Kirk > Taken June 8th in Lawson, Missouri. Very strong winds with this storm! Very little rain until shortly after this shot!
Shane Kirk > Taken on March 23rd, 2009 in Hiawatha, Kansas. One of the first storms of the year! I watched this storm for awhile with the local volunteer firefighters. They picked a great spot for viewing this storm at sunset. This shot is looking almost due north.
Shane Kirk > Taken on July 14th, 2007 in Kansas City, Kansas. This is a stitched photo that consists of five shots. The sun was to the left of the photo. I used a 18-55mm nikon lens. I wished I'd had my 12-24mm wide angle then!
Shane Kirk > This shot was taken near Braman, Oklahoma on April 18th, 2009. My Dad and brother went with me on this chase. We drove 570 miles round trip to get a storm since we have had nothing here in Kansas City. We arrived 15 minutes before the front came though and it was incredible to see!
