Shane Kirk's recent videos

July 30th, 2009. I have just finished a book with 75 of my favorite storm and lightning photos! Some are from the lightning and storm cloud galleries here! You can preview the first 15 pages at: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/791446

Severe weather has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. Even at a young age when storms were near, I would be out watching the sky. In 1997, I relocated to the Kansas City area and my excitement for storms has grown since moving here. Storms in the midwest are spectacular to see and are so different from the storms I had watched out west. At times I'll get so busy shooting a storm that the lightning will be too close. For those close calls, my friends have nicknamed me Lightningrod! I have been known to drive 300 miles on a week night to shoot lightning and arrive back home just in time to go to work! If only I could be a full-time storm chaser! In the off-season I'll shoot landscapes, birds, or just about anything that moves while constantly thinking of that first spring storm! For further questions, e-mail me at shanekrk@yahoo.com. Thanks for viewing my photos and a special thanks to those who leave a comment! Have a great day!
